Ocean takes on SOHO, NYC!

I'm proud to be a part of the "Great Gay Photo Show" at the Leslie/Lohman Gallery in SOHO, NYC! This is my first exhibition of the year and I'll be showing two black and white male nudes as well as two photographs of black SGL couples, caught in tender moments. Maybe this will be "my year". My year to EXPLODE onto the scene and have my name up in lights! I know, I know. Wishful thinking. Sigh. In the meantime, I'll continue creating the work that I love to do and wait patiently for my name to be called. :-)

Here's an invite to the group photography exhibition I'm very excited to be a part of! Download the invite here, or forward the link to your friends! Hope to see you there!

Christmas 2007

Christmas my love
you rescued me
not in a superhuman way
but in your
loving way

I see you more
and to your core
i'll make my way

to increase your light
and together we'll stay

ever so bright
and bonded as we lay

side by side
your eyes piercing mine
reflecting your soul
revealing our magic
that will never grow old.

Hell Yeah! it's a "sappy" poem, but thats what being in love does to me! :-)

For many years, I would go into a deep, dark yet "functional" depression around Christmastime. I never fully understood the reason why I felt blue around the time of year where I feel forced to be happy. Maybe that's what it is. I felt obligated to be happy even if i didn't really feel like it. This pressure had the effect of further sinking me into the pit of holiday blues. Well this year was the first in many years that I really felt the holiday spirit! Thank's K for making this a memorable Christmas for me.Thanks for loving me so much and bringing the child out for Christmas. And thanks for being 'the one!

These images are a selection of hundreds of photos I've taken over the holidays --images that speak to the hoilday season as I experienced it. They are a reflection of my re-claiming my life during the holiday season.
Enjoy the images and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Maddening crush of excited tourists and angry locals.

The only thing that provided relief was to look upward towards the sky.

Still, the crowd is crushing and suffocating.
